Our Commitment to Privacy

Capture It is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you and stays on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal information, voice recordings, or entries.

Data Collection

We collect nothing. Capture It does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no email addresses, and no tracking.

On-Device Processing

All of Capture It's core functionality runs entirely on your device:

• Voice transcription is performed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Your voice recordings are never sent to any server.
• AI classification and categorisation is performed on-device using Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models framework). No text is sent to any cloud service for processing.
• Smart Draft generation uses on-device Apple Intelligence. Your draft content is never transmitted externally.
• All entries, categories, people, and settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. No data is synced to any cloud service.

Network Requests

Capture It makes no network requests to third-party servers for its core functionality. The app does not communicate with any external APIs or cloud services outside of Apple's ecosystem. Network activity that may occur includes:

• Shared Rooms (iCloud) — If you create or join a shared room, room data (entries, tasks, and thoughts shared to that room) is synced via Apple's CloudKit framework using your iCloud account. This data is stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. Only data you explicitly share to a room is synced — your personal entries are never uploaded.
• Apple Maps — If you tap a contextual follow-up suggestion (e.g., "Find a florist nearby"), the request is handled by Apple's MapKit framework and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Sending emails or messages — If you choose to send a Smart Draft via Mail or Messages, the content is handed off to Apple's native apps and is subject to your email/messaging provider's policies.

Data Storage

All personal data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you use Shared Rooms, room data is synced via Apple's CloudKit to your iCloud account and shared with room members. We have no access to your iCloud data or any CloudKit containers. You can delete all local app data at any time by deleting the app from your device, and you can leave or delete shared rooms at any time.

Third-Party Services

Capture It does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any other third-party service embedded in the app.

Children's Privacy

Capture It does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13, as it does not collect data from anyone. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Apple Intelligence

Capture It uses Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models framework) for on-device natural language processing. This processing happens entirely on your device and is governed by Apple's privacy policies. No data is sent to Apple's servers for this processing.

Purchases

Capture It is available as a one-time purchase through the App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this privacy policy, changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Given that our core principle is "nothing leaves your device," we do not anticipate significant changes.
